People who exercise do so because it gives them an enormous sense of well-being something that has worked for me since a young age. People feel more energetic throughout the day, sleep better at night, have sharper memories and feel more relaxed and positive about themselves and their lives. Regular exercise can a positive impact on depression, anxiety and many more, it can relieve stress, improve memory and boost your overall mood. No matter what age you are or what fitness level you have we can learn to use exercise as a powerful tool to feel better and my moto is to keep it simple. Running became part of my life over 11 years ago. Before I started running I was what you would call a power walker which I loved . For me any exercise was more than a workout, yes I loved keeping fit but the fresh air, the freedom ,the head space ,the strength and the overall feeling it gave me was amazing.
I decided in 2009 to give running a go . It wasn’t easy starting off but I stuck with it and with the help and advice that I took from others made it so much easier. I met so many wonderful people along the way which brought me to take part in marathons, half marathons, 10kms and 5kms. Lots of wonderful memories and trips away to participate in them but that’s what made the journey so worthwhile with lots of enjoyment and laughter.
For me it was more than running I loved the energy it gave me , the feeling I got afterwards and that’s what I always hold onto and tell my clients every time they exercise whether if it is a walk, jog, a run, a workout or whatever it is you love to do is to hold onto how it makes you feel . Yes it can be tough but so are you and that’s what gives us a strong mindset.
There is no pace when you exercise, you’re working on yourself for yourself at your own level and ability.You can do anything you put your mind to. I have helped so many run from track to a 5k when they never thought they could . These amazing people went on further to complete their own running goals. Always remember the task ahead of you is never greater than the strength within you no matter what you want to achieve.
